Holiday's Officially Over

It's Sunday and I am halfway watching the Saints' lackluster performance against Carolina. Thank goodness I hate football and only like the Saints when they win. I am more preoccupied with the fact that the few days I had off this holiday season are drawing to a close.
I will not complain. They were very good days. This year was the first time in so many years that I worked (1/2 day) on Christmas Eve. But thank God I have a job when so many people are unemployed! When I came home from work on Christmas Eve my kids were all here from out of town spending Christmas with us. Again how blessed are we! So many families are sadly divided by indifference and strife and we are fortunate enough to be together. Thanks again!
Just when I was about to get down on myself for not having the energy to bake the yearly Challah we have on Christmas morning,( Hey,I like diversity after all Jesus was Jewish!)my younger daughter volunteers to make it with just a bit of help from me. Everyone cooperated: gifts were bought, wrapped, casseroles cooked, Christmas dinner with friends enjoyed, annual movie watched and we got to Mass on time. So for once I am not sad as this season is over but Thank God for my bounty as I eye the ornaments that I have to put away. Happy 2010!!
